HeRAMS Central African Republic: Impact of natural disasters on the health system
February 2026
Overview
The Health Resources and Services Availability Monitoring System (HeRAMS) aims to provide decision-makers and health stakeholders at large with vital and up-to-date information on the availability of essential health resources and services, help them identify gaps, and determine priorities for intervention.
HeRAMS has been deployed in the Central African Republic since January 2022, enabling the monitoring of 1089 health service delivery units (HSDUs) across the country. Based on data reported through 18 February 2024, this report evaluates the extent of damage to infrastructure and equipment resulting from natural disasters and highlights the most affected areas.
While this HeRAMS deployment remains ongoing and data verification and validation continue, the analysis presented here is not final and has been produced solely to inform operations.
