  Overview
The World Health Organization International Lead Poisoning Prevention Week (ILPPW) campaign is held annually with the objectives of raising awareness about the health effects of exposure to lead and highlighting the efforts of countries and partners to prevent exposure to lead, particularly in children.
The ninth ILPPW was held from 24 to 30 October 2021. The scope of ILPPW was, as in earlier years, to raise awareness about the adverse health effects of exposure to lead; to highlight the efforts of countries and partners to prevent exposure to lead, particularly in children; and to urge further action to eliminate lead paint through regulatory action at country level.
