     Overview
Poor vaccination coverage in Syria, due to the ongoing conflict, has lowered immunity and caused outbreaks of highly contagious diseases such as measles and poliomyelitis (polio). From Gaziantep, Turkey, WHO works with health partners to protect children across the border in north-western Syria from vaccine-preventable diseases. This leaflet presents figures for 2017 and plans for 2018, as well as challenges and facilitating factors.
